Looking after our Female Nursery Workers
When you have to choose between using your salary to feed your children or buying sanitary items, the answer is simple. Here at WfZ we have just completed a project to ensure all female workers in our nurseries receive 2 sanitary items each.
While John and Mary Coyne (WfZ founders) are currently visiting, Mary was delighted to be able to handover a few hundred reusable sanitary pads to all the managers of each nursery when they came in for a meeting. All these managers, like Shyreen at Enyezini Centre nursery, took photos of them being distributed. These workers were delighted and expressed their gratitude. Our reusable sanitary pads are made by our own WfZ Tailoring team of 2 teachers and 3 trainees on their 6 month training course. Below you will see some of these photos.
The following nurseries were supplied: Enyezini Centre, Phutura, Mfune, Kafulufulu, Soko, Chimbongondo, Kadikechi, Elamuleni, Kavula, Mtaja, Embangweni and three nurseries in Misuku in the far North of Malawi namely: Ilindi, Ighughu and Iponjola.
