Since the Self Help groups are involved in small business and for a myriad of other reasons, communities, most of whom, never got to school, are excited about learning. We are working with the District Education Manager of Primary school education in a type of pilot scheme here. We will again provide training for people with second level education, to deliver an existing programme in literacy, but add modules on health, nutrition, women’s issues like cultural/traditional practices, early marriage of girls and other issues requested by communities.
The preschool building will be multifunctional and be used for adult education as well as health outreach and a community meeting place as well.
