Restoring Forest

22nd October 2018:

This is a piece of land that we were given the use of at the end of last year by our local Bishop John Ryan, where we invite people to come and learn about trees and forestry.

It shows people how to plant trees and what can be achieved in a little time. The whole area is about 180 acres.

Here we replaced some mature trees that have been cut down. In this area we replaced pine with pine, but we have also sown Eucalyptus and a mix of other native trees with a range of fruit tree seedlings produced on the farm incl. Mango, Citrus, Apples, Peaches…

These trees were sown in February and on average are now up to 600 mm tall!
