Today we continued with nursery monitoring and comparing the number of tubes and seeds received versus with what has been sown on the nursery beds.
12 club nurseries have been monitored from different villages within Misuku. Photos and GPS coordinates have been collected. Furthermore the number of tubes received versus those that have been potted is tallying. So far not a single club has kept seeds or tubes in their houses.
As we were monitoring the nurseries we came across an indigenous tree called Ingwina which grows straight and tall, almost the same as pine trees and seeds can be sourced. One farmer sow the Ingwina tree last season and I took photos of the Ingwina nursery.
We met, and have agreed with the Forester that when seeds are ready for this tree we will be allowed to source the seeds in the natural forest.
