Joyce Moyo

Joyce Moyo, aged 40, got married in 2001 in Kadikechi Community and has 4 children (2 boys and 2 girls). Since moving to this community, her family relied on charcoal burning to support themselves. According to her, they had been destructively cutting down trees for charcoal because they had no other means of earning money. However, despite their efforts in charcoal burning, they struggled to meet their needs.

In 2022, when Wells for Zoë began its services in the area, she decided to join the organisation and work with them, although her husband initially refused. After working with the organisation for 2 months, her husband also decided to join because of the positive changes his wife brought to the family. Since 2022, they have managed to support their family better compared to the period from 2001 to 2021. She is also very happy and thankful for the civic education they received through the clinic program.

She has said, “thanks to Wells for Zoë for what they are doing for us; we don’t take them for granted” and is requesting more years support in Kadikechi and in particular with the Health Clinic.
