My name is Rosina Mwale, one of the workers at Enyezini indigenous tree planting project. I have benefited a lot from the project through the wages I was receiving.

I used some of the money to buy manure which I applied in my field. I am very happy now because I have much crops in my farm this year as compared to the past years. I have also bought my kid school uniform, and my house looks beautiful because it has iron sheets. My only wish is that the project should continue because the project really helped us in times where we had no food.

There are different ways of how we can take care of trees and these includes; by not burning charcoal, not cutting down trees carelessly, not throwing fire in the mountain to prevent the trees from being burned and in addition to that making fire break around the forest. Lastly teaching people about the bad effects of cutting down trees and also making laws that if anyone is found cutting down trees will be asked to pay a goat and to replant five trees in replacing the ones that have been cut down.

At the village we have benefited a lot from the project because we had opportunity to find jobs for those who were not doing business. In addition to that, it has also helped to prevent soil erosion and the project has brought back the good environment which was destroyed. It has also ended the problem of poverty because we were receiving income at the end of the day. The trees will help us with fresh air and most important of all, they will beautify our land.
