Cecilia Nyirenda

My name is Cecilia Nyirenda, aged 28, from Ngilima Village here at Embangweni. I have one son, and I got married in 2017. Unfortunately, my husband divorced me in 2021. Since then, I have faced many difficulties in taking care of my child. I used to wash clothes and sell firewood to earn money for food, clothing, soap, and rent. However, the income I earned was very little, and there were times when I went to bed hungry.

In 2022, I made the decision to look for work with Wells for Zoë. Since then, my life has changed for the better. I have been able to buy goats, pigs, fertiliser, clothes, a bicycle, and food for everyday use with the salary I receive. I am proud of this organisation because since I joined, I have never gone to bed hungry, and I am very happy.

I appreciate this organisation, and I wish for it to continue so that my colleagues and I do not have to suffer for our daily basic needs. Thank you.
