People in Chimbuha village had been collecting water from open wells for more than 18 years. At first, both people and animals used the same water source, but they are now very happy to have a pump providing them with clean and safe water.

Most people in the village are poor, and many depend on farming for their livelihoods. The road network in the area is also poor, making it difficult for people to travel and access services and markets.
