In the past, the villagers struggled to access clean and safe water, relying instead on unprotected open wells that were in poor condition. They expressed their sincere gratitude to Wells for Zoë for providing them with clean and safe water free of charge.
Although many people in the village are poor, they are hardworking and depend mainly on farming, growing crops such as maize and groundnuts. Many children do not attend school, contributing to a high rate of early marriages. The roads leading to the village are in very poor condition, and there has been little meaningful development in the area.
