After drinking water from open wells for many years, the people of Kachingwe village are now happy to have access to safe and clean water for the first time. Lives had been lost in the past due to waterborne diseases, but now they thank Wells for Zoë for bringing them good and clean water.
The villagers are hardworking and eager to see more organisations and people of goodwill come to their area to help improve their living conditions. It was revealed that they had been drinking dirty water for 13 years. The villagers grow maize, soya beans and beans, but vendors often buy their produce at very low prices, leaving them with little to no benefit from their hard work.
