Mathola

It was a very joyful day in the village of Mathola as many people gathered to witness the installation of a water pump for the first time. The villagers, who have long relied on open wells for water, expressed their happiness and gratitude to Wells for Zoë for being the first non-governmental organisation to provide them with safe and clean water. For years, no one had taken an interest in improving their water access.

The people of Mathola depend on farming and small businesses for their livelihoods, growing maize and beans. However, they often struggle to benefit from their harvests, as vendors come and purchase their produce at low prices, leaving them with minimal returns.
