The people of Njokandala village were delighted to see the pump being installed for the first time. Women danced to express their gratitude on this special day. The pump was installed successfully and without any difficulties. Previously, villagers had to draw water from open wells and had sought help from various organisations, both governmental and non-governmental, but received no response. They expressed heartfelt thanks to Wells for Zoë for promptly addressing their need for clean water.
Most people in the village are illiterate. Farming is their primary means of livelihood. They cultivate crops such as maize and groundnuts, which provide both food and income for their families.
