The pump installation in Njonasi village was a joyous occasion, with many villagers turning out to witness the process. The community expressed their happiness through songs and dances, particularly the women, who were especially grateful to Wells for Zoë for providing clean water. Previously, they had to walk long distances to collect water from open wells.
The villagers are primarily small-scale farmers, but they struggle with low harvests due to the lack of funds to purchase fertilizer for their crops and depleted land. Despite these challenges, the villagers are hardworking and eager for more support to improve their livelihoods.
