We received a warm and happy welcome in the village of Chiswa, and the pump installation was completed smoothly. Previously, villagers relied on distant, unprotected open wells, often contaminated by waste and animals. Now, they are thrilled to have clean and safe water within the village.
Most residents are poor and engage in farming, growing crops such as maize, groundnuts, and potatoes. However, they often sell their produce fresh, leading to food shortages from July to January when supplies are depleted. Although pre-schools exist in the area, they lack trained teachers, further highlighting the need for development support.
