She was born in Mchinji in 1981, in the district hospital, and has three brothers and one sister. They lived in various places in Malawi and now her brothers live in Mchinji with her mother. She is in Mzuzu since 2008 and she is working at the farm since 2017. She left school after Primary 7.
Her husbands name is Patrick Phiri and they have 6 children, all girls. The names are Funa, Tikhare, Tionge, Thakozani, Chimwemwe and Madalitso. Starving to find food and clothes she started working in Lusangazi Farm managing pine seedlings. First she started as a dayworker but still had trouble with her finances. One day she visited Adamson explaining her circumstances, he consulted John who after he heard her story employed her in WfZ.
She is proud that she is working here because she gets paid and now she can buy clothes and food for the kids and that makes her very happy.
“If we continue to work as a team, we can achieve anything” – she said.
