BRONAGH’S FIRST HOLY COMMUNION SHARING STORY:

Bronagh is a young girl from Cork. She is a bright student and on the occasion of her First Holy Communion, she was given many gifts from family and friends. But this young girl on her big day, wanted to be part of a bigger world scene! So after consulting her Dad, whose friend is Br Michael Newman, a Brother of St John of God in Malawi – decided to give some of the cash she received on her important day to the poor in Northern Malawi.

And so a Well was constructed by the women and men of a small isolated community 4 km north of the city of Mzuzu – supported by the workers from the ‘Wells for Zoë’ team based in Malawi. Then on St Patrick’s Day 2015 the well was completed.

A young boy from the village started to work the pump…and quickly it produced cool, clean and clear water for the villagers to use for irrigation, washing and cooking. This well will produce clean water for decades supported by the ‘Wells for Zoë’ people.

How many folk have a well named after them? Bronagh has!!
