or Support a Girl Child Student yourself here

My name is [NAME] and I am raising money to “Support the Girl Child Student” – a Wells for Zoë project to help send girls to Secondary School by partially or fully covering their fees and subsistence while there.  If you need more background info about Wells for Zoë, the small family-run Irish voluntary organisation founded in 2005, look through the rest of the website and you could start here.

My goal is to raise enough to enable one girl take up her position at school for a year, supporting her by paying her fees and other school-going expenses. This costs €180.

Please help me do this by donating below…

What is the Problem? Why is this Important?

The women we serve in Northern Malawi, are born into poverty, they have no rights but a myriad of responsibilities, even as girls. They carry water on their heads when they are as young as four or five, they collect firewood, they are responsible for the growing and cooking of food, and really don’t have a life. Males are fed first, preferentially educated and have any of the rights that exist. But there’s worse, like traditional cultural practices, trafficking, mutilation, early marriage and childbirth complications.

Educated girls have fewer children, are better able to care for their children, demand better access to health care and information, practice safer sex, have better access to jobs, and are more likely to send their children to school.

Fund a Village Well & Pump

€0 of €250 raised

My name is [NAME] and I am raising money to “Fund a Village Well & Pump” for people in Northern Malawi.  If you need more background info about Wells for Zoë, the small family-run Irish voluntary organisation founded in 2005, look through the rest of the website but you could start here.

Their process is as follows:

  • Wells for Zoë visit a village in need of a pump and discuss terms
  • The villagers dig the well and make the cover with cement and a ‘spider’ provided by w4z
  • When that is done w4z come back and fit the Zoë pump which is made in the w4z factory in Mzuzu by their Malawian employees
  • Pictures are taken of the process and GPS coords recorded; all will be uploaded to this page so you can follow the progress

My goal is to raise enough for one pump and its installation. This costs €250.

Please help me do this by donating below.

Wedding Day Gift

Wedding Day Gift

We are [NAME] and instead of giving us a wedding present (that we would of course graciously accept, but don’t really need!) we would love you, our wedding guests, to donate to Wells for Zoë on our behalf?

We will then see what we can do with the money depending on how much we receive. It might be to install much need pumps or send support the Girl Child project by enabling girls to take up their earned places at school.

Whatever path we choose we will all be able to follow the progress of the well and pump or Girl Child and get that fuzzy feeling knowing that 100% of your donation made it happen!

You can get more background info about Wells for Zoë, the small family-run Irish voluntary organisation founded in 2005, by looking through the rest of the website and here would be a good place to start.
