The Chifundo Foundation

We were delighted to receive this letter on the 27th April from the Chifundo Foundation who are based in Blackrock, Co. Dublin.

We thank them for their kind remarks (and donation!).

Hi John and Mary,

A belated thank you for the kind support you extended to our community in Malawi earlier this year. Parents of three of our children made the journey to your farm to learn the farming skills which we believe will bring new knowledge, skills and produce to the core of our work in Zomba and to their own villages.

We are both going out to spend time with them on Tuesday of next week when we will experience first hand the benefits received. This is Elaine’s first visit so it will be a particularly wonderful experience for her. As well as progressing the education programme we will be finalising the entire building project for the construction of the Learning Centre. Last year we built the surrounding wall to secure the 2 acre site and now we are ready to start the build.

However thanks to your help and the work of others on the ground one third of the site is now planted with vegetables, fruit and other farm produce which will be of real benefit to our own project but also provide nutritional produce for the families of the children. These we also hope will be able to transfer the knowledge and the produce to start little plots in their own communities.

We thank you for your inspiration and practical support in this initiative and enclose a small donation towards your great work. We will get you some photographs of progress on our return. In the meantime we wish you every success in your endeavours and to all your family and active team in ‘Wells For Zoë‘.

Yours sincerely

Elaine and John Cogavin
